Friday, June 20th, 2003: The Horseshoe Tavern
The Daybreak returned to The Horseshoe Tavern once again on the evening of June 20th and delivered on their promise of a solid night, bringing back a few old favourites from the past as well as introducing a couple of new songs.
The band opened the set with "Miss California" and then brought back "How Long Can We Wait?", not heard at a Daybreak show since February. Next up was "Sleep Lightly", new, dark and very powerful. The band followed with another oldie, "Rain, Rain, Rain" and moved into "This Is Love". Next was the second debut of "Hindsight". Cure-esque, with moving lyrics and catching melody the song showed the makings of an anthem. The band closed with "Shuffle", "Say Anything" and "Don't Be Long", which was met with fury, energy and chaos, as always.
Big thanks to Craig for the show, Kip for the sound and to everyone who came out to cheer us on.
